Bootstrapped business wisdom and unfiltered insight from the co-founder and CEO of Bearly Art and co-founder of Cards for Cubs — 300,000+ handmade cards shipped to kids in foster care.
From Arlington, Texas, Jeremy Su and his teams build companies without outside investors. As co-founder and CEO of Bearly Art, he leads the team that took the maker brand from 30 units a month at its 2019 launch to more than 15,000, with more than 700,000 bottles of glue sold and a place in 200+ retail stores across 15+ countries, including Blick Art Materials, Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp and Spellbinders. In 2024, Bearly Art ranked No. 6 in UT Arlington’s MAVS100, which honors the top 100 Maverick-run businesses. He also co-founded Hassle Free Commerce (Turner & Su), a 3PL and reseller that helps brands sell on Amazon without the logistics headaches. Together, the teams have done more than $35 million in e-commerce sales.
In 2020 he and two co-founders started Cards for Cubs, with Bearly Art as its sponsor. What started as a card drive has grown into a national 501(c)(3), with thousands of card makers and libraries across the country making cards for kids in foster care.
He also gives back to other founders: he has mentored more than 150 small business owners through SCORE.
At heart, Jeremy is a teacher and a maker. Whatever the situation, he’s happiest creating something new and helping others learn to do the same. A Christian and a father, he sees business as a way to serve his family, his teams, and the communities they reach.
